Dog Daycare in Churchville: Is It Right for Your Dog?

Some dogs are perfectly content to snooze on the couch while you are at work. Others pace, chew, bark at the mail carrier for hours, or greet you at the door like they have been shot out of a cannon. If your dog falls into the second group, you may have wondered whether dog daycare is worth it.
At Evergreen Kennels in Churchville, we offer daycare for families in the Rochester area who want their dog cared for during the day. Here is a straightforward look at how it works and how to tell if it is a good fit for your dog.
How Daycare Works at Evergreen Kennels
Our daycare is simple: you drop your dog off in the morning, we provide supervised care through the day, and you pick them up when your day is done. While they are here, your dog has their own indoor/outdoor run, so they can head outside for fresh air and come back in to rest whenever they like.
If you would like your dog to get some extra exercise and one-on-one attention, you can add extras like 1-on-1 playtime or a bath. You will find the full details on our dog daycare in Churchville page.
Signs Your Dog Might Be a Good Fit
Daycare is not for every dog, but it can be a big help for many. It may be a great fit if:
- Your dog has energy to burn. High-energy dogs often do better when their day includes a change of scenery and a chance to get outside.
- Your dog gets anxious alone. Some dogs simply do not like being home by themselves for hours. Knowing someone is keeping an eye on them can ease your mind and theirs.
- You have long work days. If your commute plus your shift adds up to a very long stretch, daycare can fill the gap.
- You are planning a first overnight stay. A daycare visit or two is a gentle way to let your dog get to know the place, the people, and the routine before a full boarding stay.
When Daycare Might Not Be Needed
If your dog is calm at home, sleeps most of the day, and does not show signs of stress when left alone, they may not need daycare on a regular basis. That is perfectly fine. Some families use daycare only on the occasional extra-long day, or when work at home makes a busy dog harder to manage.
Add-Ons That Make the Day Better
Two extras are popular with our daycare families:
- 1-on-1 playtime. A 15-minute session in one of our large outdoor play yards with a kennel attendant. Your dog gets focused attention and room to run, without mixing with other people's dogs.
- Bath and brush-out. Pick up a clean, fluffy dog at the end of the day. Pricing is based on weight, so call us for details.
We also offer basic obedience training covering sit, down, off, wait, heel, and walk on lead, as well as scent work training. Call for details, or see all of our services.
A Comfortable Space All Day Long
Our buildings are heated and air conditioned, and the floors are heated, so your dog stays comfortable through every Western New York season, from sticky July afternoons to January cold snaps. Open runs let dogs see their surroundings, which helps many dogs feel more relaxed than they would behind a closed door.
Experienced, Caring People
Evergreen Kennels is family owned and operated by Bobby and Dawn Vetere, who have served Western New York for more than 35 years. Bobby is a former Monroe County Sheriff's K-9 Deputy with years of experience training and handling police K-9s. He is certified in canine first aid by the Veterinary Tactical Group and holds a certificate in Tactical Canine Casualty Care. Our team are genuine animal lovers who enjoy getting to know each dog.
